Newton Entry Addition
340 sq. ft. | In Progress : Concept Design

Contemporary house entrance with wooden slat door, concrete pathway, landscaped plants, and autumn leaves.

This project features a front entry addition and a siding update for a home in Newton, MA. The front entry features a modern white oak door with integrated slatted wood affixed to the frame, creating privacy for the existing living spaces. The new siding employs light-stained cedar shiplap, adding a contemporary touch to the exterior.

A significant transformation was achieved by stripping the siding from the adjacent wall, revealing a hidden board-formed concrete finish. This complements the verticality of the new siding and introduces texture to the design. Additionally, an entry overhang provides functional cover, enhancing the entry sequence and serving as an architectural focal point.
